Commencing 40 years of serving the Roaring Fork Valley’s health and human services, the new era of the Aspen Valley Foundation hosted the annual Celebration of Giving at the Hotel Jerome last December 18. Guests were welcomed by board chair Dr. Mark Purnell, while AVF Executive Director Kris Marsh announced grantees, scholarship recipients, and new initiatives for the coming year. The more than 400 attendees included Sheriff Joe DiSalvo, Blanca and Cavanaugh O’Leary, Sue Smedstad, Betty Weiss, and Jim Moran. Sponsored by Aspen Peak, Hotel Jerome, Design Workshop, CCY Architects, Lantz-Boggio Architects, Christian Living Services, and Reese Henry & Company, the elegant evening culminated with stirring closing remarks from Marsh, in addition to the singing of “Amazing Grace” by Jonathan and Nikki Boxer.
