An Aspen Peak staffer tests out the latest fitness pop-up at O2 Aspen...
This week I got the chance to ditch my office job and test out the DanceBody pop-up that came to town. For one week in August, health and wellness studio O2 Aspen hosted the dance fitness company with locations in New York City, the Hamptons and Miami. When I arrived at O2, I was guided up the stairs and into the sprawling studio room overlooking Aspen Mountain. I wouldn’t call myself the most coordinated girl in the world but I’m definitely up for a physical challenge. Katia Pryce, founder and owner of DanceBody, cheerfully welcomed everyone to class and assured us that there was no need to be an expert to get the most out of our 60-minute session. Class began with a quick warm up to an upbeat Pitbull song. The next 40 minutes were spent dancing, jumping and sweating. Guided by pop music and the former professional ballerina, the intense class went by fast. By the end and after sculpt work on metal chairs, I felt empowered.
O2 Aspen brings yoga, meditation and fitness experts from around the country to Aspen. For more pop-ups like DanceBody, check out the schedule for the next visiting guru, o2aspen.com
