It’s a marriage made in angling paradise: The Little Nell and customized, guided fly-fishing trips to the area’s finest rivers and streams.
Open to hotel guests and the general public alike, Fly Fishing Adventures caters to everyone from novices
to expert fishermen and offers both a challenging experience and tranquility. Full-day clients will receive a gourmet streamside lunch prepared by The Little Nell’s executive chef, Ryan Hardy, complete with white table linens, true cutlery and wine from the Nell cellar. Also available are multiday trips; they involve overnight camping in the pristine Colorado backcountry, some of which is accessible only by horseback.
Leading the program is David Doerr, a former diamond and jewelry executive whose passion in life has always been fishing. “My whole life’s experience has really tailored me for this job,” says Doerr, the hotel’s director of fly-fishing. “It’s hard to imagine getting paid for this.”
And fly-fishing is just one of The Little Nell’s new adventure-travel offerings. This summer, two dedicated
travel specialists will plan and customize hikes, biking trips and more for guests who want to truly experience the outdoor splendor and adventure of an Aspen summer.
